I was required to manage the product as a whole; creating all project documentation, developing and managing testing processes, conducting tester and analyst recruitment, implementing and maintaining software and managing files.
After gathering requirements from clients, the first step is to create a test plan, with the structure depending on the complexity and length of the test. The plan is written in a clear and direct manner to glean unbiased results from users whose behavior and feedback are recorded. I created and refined the test plan template that is now being used for all projects. I also created other documentation used in this process such as surveys (for measures such as system usability and net promoter scores).
Test Analysis Process
Using a variety of usability measures I developed a process for analysing tester videos. This process is being used by our UX analysts to record tester behaviour and categorizes findings across usability, desirability, credibility, etc. This is a manual process that requires ongoing collaboration, and this data is used to create a suite of reports for clients.
I designed our comprehensive UX testing project reports. This included developing the report structure, all design work (using our branding elements), and creating reports for numerous individual testing projects which I managed. I also created summary reports to provide quick, actionable feedback for agile projects and produced highlights videos. I continue to advise on projects, ensuring quality standards and providing feedback.
Branding & Marketing
Working with designers, developers and animators, I also managed the end-to-end brand direction, oversaw creative direction and produced digital marketing collateral, including the previous version of the company website.
I collaborated with a designer/illustrator to develop the overall identity for TestMate. The goal was an illustrative, playful design to capture the attention and interest of users, that could also be applied across marketing material, project documentation, and digital platforms. I was heavily involved in the ideation process (including the development of the mascot) and managed the branding project as a whole.
Our initial website designed when we launched in 2015, was rebuilt in 2016 as the business and client base grew. I managed creation and implementation of the site, including gathering requirements, developing wireframes and the overall UX, managing the creative team (designer, developer and copywriter) and testing. I also managed the creation of new branding elements used specifically for the website.
I produced our first animated explainer video, working with an animator, voiceover artist and co-writing the script. A key requirement was maintaining the branding/identity that had been developed previously. Having never worked on an animation or video project before, I was required to learn and apply new processes.
I have developed marketing collateral, including Email Marketing templates, and Social Media assets, allowing me to improve my design skills. Again, a key requirement has been to maintain consistent branding across all material. I was also heavily involved in the creation and execution of our first sales drive, which resulted in a number of new projects as well as increased brand awareness.
